Song of Salomon 1:4
Draw me, we will run after thee:
As Christians, we live under the shadows of His faithfulness. His goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. The windows of heaven are wide open, and His showers of blessing are endless in our lives. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. These are the attributes, and the essence of God naturally flows from Him. God is good, yet where is He?
Take a moment and consider this scenario. A wealthy earthly father sends a gift to his children from a faraway country. He’s a good man, and everything they need, he has provided. The children know about him only from a distance but don’t know him closely. They rarely see him, and because of it, there is no personal relationship between them.
Believers, be aware of the spiritual dissatisfaction hidden behind the mask of Christianity. Comfortably hiding behind the title Christianity many are satisfied with the attribute and the essence of God. Content with their lives as long as the mask remains. God is in love with us and desires that we come to the truth. My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. Before His presence, there is nowhere to hide as everything is transparent.
Transparency removes our mask and exposes what we have been hiding, the complete and total spiritual depravity. Seeing the spiritual emptiness of the heart causes a deep prayer for God to draw us to You. Lord, thank You for the blessing and goodness, but we rather know You.
Only by the working of the Holy Spirit can man desire to draw near to the Lord. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him. Our heavenly Father placed the desire deep in our hearts for us to draw near to Him, and His calling is irrevocable.
Brethren, have you felt His presence today? have you heard His voice saying come? Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. Do not hesitate, for the Holy Spirit has personally invited you to come. Do not be distracted by His attribute and essence. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ, the source from where all blessings flow.
