Satan's Best-kept Secret #203

Luke 16:23-24

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

The message is about a man that became rich but lost his eternal soul. He asked God from hell, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Barely preached, hell is one of Satan's best-kept secrets. The message is considered by many to be hateful speech, unloving, judgmental, and offensive. Whether we believe in hell or not, it's irrelevant because it's written in the Word of God. Eternity is inevitable, unavoidable, and timeless everyone born in this world will face the afterlife, heaven or hell.

While in the world, the rich man was spiritually blind, but in hell, he could see clearly. He was in complete agony and hopelessly longed for water to quench his thirst. Instead, there was only weeping and gnashing of teeth for him. As part of eternal punishment, hell is where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched, Abraham said, Son, remember. Jesus said, I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved. However, he chooses earthly wealth as more valuable than his external soul. Throughout eternity his choice will forever torture him. Due to his rejection of Christ, the Lord rejected him. Jesus told him, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

Jesus Christ paid with His life for the salvation of our eternal souls. Being crucified on the cross was the most horrific way of dying. However, for the joy of saving us, He endured the cross despising the shame. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? The message from the rich man is for someone to share the gift of salvation with his brothers so they can avoid hell. Dear readers, this warning is from the rich man to you. If you don't embrace Christ and receive His gift of salvation, He will reject you and send you to hell.
