Job 1:21

Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither.

Death is the one event in our life that is inevitable. As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour. Our time on earth is short, and death will escort us to our appointment with God. There is no time to waste, as we must prepare our hearts for the meeting with the Lord.

Time is precious, and each one will give an account of their doing on earth. However, satan seeks ways to allure our hearts away from the Father and waste our time. Our weakness is the flesh, easily distracted by pleasure, riches, and worldly cares. Our defense against the enemy is the written Word of God. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Sinners without the Word of God are powerless to resist temptation and quickly become subdued by worldliness.

The eyes of men are never satisfied, making discontent hearts. Discontentment eventually led to greed, a spirit that constantly craves more. Unable to please the craving, many will labor endlessly to obtain what they can not keep. They brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. Sadly many of God’s people are in bondage by greed.

Lusting after worldly things has changed the priority of many. Consider how little time we spend seeking the Lord and the time seeking earthly treasures. Remember, all that we ever need or desire is in Christ. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Our first and greatest commandment is, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. While on earth, this is our highest priority, and everything else rotates around it.

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. Like a flake of snow, is there one second then gone forever, so are our days on earth. Brethren, stay focused and resist the worldly distracted from the enemy because our time on earth is short. Always remember what Jesus said, seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
