2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this
seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Our Father has orchestrated everything from the beginning to the end of time. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. God has prepared a plan for the salvation of man’s soul and his destiny.
Since birth, our mothers conceived us in sin, by birth we have become the children of wrath. Each and every one of us born into this world deserves everlasting death. However, in the eternal plan, Jesus Christ came to redeem those that are His. The calling of God is predestined. We were elected and sealed before time began for His glory. Chosen by God for redemption and sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? We were created and approved according to God and His eternal decree and counsel.
God presented us as a gift to our Lord Jesus Christ, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Secured in Christ, by His sovereign grace and love, we are highly favored by the Lord. That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none. From the beginning, the Lord knew everything about us. He knew our whereabouts, our hearts, and all of the struggles we will encounter through life.
Therefore, Satan hates us with a passion knowing that we are highly favored. There is nothing the adversary can do to alter our God-given destiny. For this reason, he torments us by attacking our minds. Remember, be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Our mind is the great battlefield where the enemy hurls evil thoughts and voices.
Our adversary’s preferred weapon of choice used against us is fear. Thoughts of fear should be rebuked immediately and cast out of our minds otherwise, they will linger in the mind until it produces unbelief in the heart. Unbelief is the greatest sin of all. This sin causes us to deny the truth of God’s love and omnipotence. When we don’t believe that God loves us and that he can work miracles, this causes us to live a life of discouragement and defeat. The sin of unbelief was the reason why Jesus wept.
Dear brethren, God chose us according to His eternal decree and counsel. Our salvation is unconditionally dependent upon the Lord Jesus Christ. On the cross, Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. We were loved, chosen, forgiven, and sealed by the most high God. Jesus’s last words on earth were, It is finished. Remember when the adversary attacks your mind, God’s calling is steadfast.
