Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. Brethren, has the light of God exposed your darkness, and do you have a guilty conscious? Are you convicted, ashamed and scared to come before the Lord due to your sins? Do your prayers sound similar to Paul’s prayer? O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Darkness is where the flesh is most comfortable and the most offensive in the sight of God. Darkness hides the sin until exposed by the light of God. God called you out of darkness into his marvellous light to reveal what darkness is hiding. Only the light of God can expose the secrets of the heart. The exposure is the Lord's invitation to come and reason with Him about your sins. Consider what the Lord has done, be glad, and rejoice for the Lord who loves you. Many people have never seen their sins.
The Lord is not angry but is longing to be with you. The Lord knew of your total depravity before you were born. He searched and found you in the pit of despair at the bottom of the miry clay. The Lord called you to the light and from the power of Satan unto God that we may receive forgiveness of sins.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Before the Lord, all have sinned and come short of the glory of the Father. God is Holy, and even the heavens are not clean in his sight. God said, Come now, and let us reason together. His love is unconditional, and His invitation is without repentance. We qualified to come before His presence because He called us. Everyone He called, He has already qualified to come.
God is all-knowing, and He saw our failures from the begging of time. As He draws us near, our sins will be transparent. The exposure is our invitation to come before His presence and reason with Him. Come, let us not hesitate and have the Lord waiting on us. Our salvation is secure in Christ, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
