Death: Our Escort into Life # 78

1John 1:7

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Untold numbers of innocent animals have been placed on the altar for a blood sacrifice, in an effort by a guilty heart to remove the conviction of sin. Jesus became the living sacrifice and brought an end to the killing, for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Where mankind could not find the way, Jesus became the new and living way to redeem him.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. It took place at the cross where Jesus rendered His life as a ransom for many. His blood was a requirement for the penalty of men's sin, and to set them free from death. Suspended between heaven and earth, His body was stretched and nailed to the cross. Blood poured from His hands and feet. His face was bloody from the beard that was pulled and the crown of thorns that was pushed upon His head. Water gushed out from the wound on the side from a Roman soldier's spear. Throughout His body, his flesh was shredded by the cat-of-nine tail's given by the soldier's whip. Blood came from every part of his body. He was wounded beyond recognition. Nailed to the cross He said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

Jesus hung on the cross as people watched and waited for death to come. Blood dripped down from the cross. Down to the earth the blood went. The earth, the birth place of Adam. The earth, our grave, our contender, for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Hoards of hell rejoiced to hear Jesus' dying last words on the cross, it is finished. Demonic forces began to celebrate the destruction of the miracle worker. The one that can walk on water and set the captives free is finally dead. Death had the power to claim all those that have sinned for the soul that sinneth, it shall die. The blood of a sinner was demanded upon their death, however the blood of Jesus was different. He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls.

His blood came out so that sinners may come in. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, It is imperative that the blood of Jesus is applied to the walls of our heart to avoid pending judgment. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you. Death is an inevitable part of life. Sooner or later it will come to us, however it only has power to destroy those that are not under the covering of the blood. The covering of the blood is God's seal of assurance of His salvation from death. For those that were bought by His blood, death is merely a vehicle that God uses to escort us into His presence. Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
