A Warning to the Believers # 182

Matthew 24:5

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

In the last days, there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. As Christians, we know Jesus Christ came to earth, died on the cross, has risen from the dead, and is even at the right hand of God. Therefore, when the enemy comes proclaiming to be Christ with miracles, signs, and wonders, we are not deceived because we know the truth. They are not Christ but false prophets that come to deceive the people. However, a deeper level of deception exists, so strong that many are victims already.

Jesus came into the country of Gadarenes, where a man came to meet Him out of the tombs with an unclean spirit. And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. Legion is a Roman name used to describe a great multitude in the army. Now, let us consider legion confession of Christ, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Their tongue confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord is the confession of a religious demon.

The goal is to deceive the lukewarm Christians that make no time to establish a relationship with the Lord. They come into the house of God and mingle but don’t make an effort to meet with God. Those with an itching ear go from one place to another in search of spiritual crumbs. Instead of laboring for themselves, they gather from someone else. The feeble believers can not endure sound doctrine. They have no solid foundation, therefore, they are tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine. Sadly, the unconverted will never have a chance without Christ. Let us take a closer look at how they can deceive multitudes, including those that proclaim to be Christians.

These are demon-possessed prophets dressed in religious attires with Bible credentials to blend among believers. God did not send them but used His name without His authority. They come laying hands on people harassed by demonic spirits. The demonic spirits come into their bodies instead, therefore, Legion. Without discernment from the Lord, the deceived are powerless to resist religious temptation.

Warning, these are the enemy hiding behind scriptures in plain sight. They called themselves pastors, ministers, and teachers doing miracles, signs, and wonders proclaiming Christ. The deception is strong, but he who endures to the end shall be saved.
